STUDIO VIEW, a foot pedal initiates movement within the form which ceases after a while, until the next viewer arrives. It’s’ reserve meanwhile, accumulates on the floor. 2022
STUDIO VIEW, Humans have difficulty comprehending the very large and the very small at once. The overall form is too large to capture in a single photograph with the mechanism, which is incredibly detailed. 2022
STUDIO VIEW, The scale shift within each work must be seen in person. It can not be experienced remotely. Thread can never return to its’ spool just as tear, once shed, can never return your head. 2022
THREAD ACCRETION, stands 11 foot 6 inches tall. Four spools of white thread descend from a great height. A swath of white thread, 10 foot 6 inches wide, perpetually accumulates on the floor. 2018
DERVISH, standing 7 foot 6 inches tall, a delicate conic shape, 5 feet in diameter, swings wide around its’ central axis stuffed with mesh, long after the foot pedal is engaged. John Davis Gallery, Hudson New York, 2018
BEING CLOSE, an oversized sheet metal book traverses a 50foot long steel truss as the viewer operates its’ mechanism, which is mounted to a tree, in Fremont Center New York. 2019
HOST, grey foam called backer rod, from one of six artist-made spools, oscillates atop a 15 feet tall steel truss. It pools around the base in a great pile, for some time, after the foot pedal is engaged. 2018
HOST, pedal detail - once engaged the motor unspools for two minutes, maybe more. The expanse of grey matters angle of repose reaches a 6 foot volume around its’ base. 2018
DUO, two colors of thread, on a 48 inch wide curved steel truss, are deployed when the motors are engaged, by a pedal on the floor, some 54 inches below. 2015
BIG BABY, a pink foam ball, 19 inches wide, with a narrow felt blanket spins on a steel body. The sculpture, 44 inches tall and 66 inches deep, is mounted to the wall, with a foot pedal and motor. 2014
GLITCH, a solid length of dense felt twists within a narrow 10 foot tall steel truss. There is a timer. When a foot pedal is engaged, the felt recoils within the confines of the sculpture, releasing itself, like a hiccup. 2015
